PURPOSE OF FOUNDATIONFormed in Sendai as the world’s first ever public UNESCO Association after WW2 by those who in resonated with the principals of UNESCO. Since then, over the last 77 years we have been conducting activities to attain world peace.
INTRODUCTIONAs the world’s first public UNESCO group, our history reaches back 77 years, with the previous 6 years as a public interest foundation.
Our main activities include the World Terakoya Movement (literacy education support), passing on future regional heritage, and SDGs (creating a sustainable society).
In solid terms we hold UNESCO college lectures and Public UNESCO Activities Day, as well as SALON& ZOOM meetings jointly online.
Furthermore, we are conducting exchange with the Tungaru UNESCO Association in the Republic of Kiribati, and Chinese language lectures are held on Saturdays 3 times per month. .
PRAfter the pandemic, we begin utilizing online platforms to conduct exchage with overseas counterparts. We also host seminars on environmental issues geared towards corporations and events about children of the future. Please join our efforts.
