| PURPOSE OF FOUNDATION | To create a long-lasting, supportive environment for people of various cultural backgrounds in Sendai to learn together and get involved with the community. As an in-between agent, we focus on supporting the cultivation of the ability to learn from each other within the community. |
| INTRODUCTION | We are a citizen group where former international students give back to the community by promoting the realization of a multicultural society. We provide the space for Japanese and foreign residents alike to interact and learn from each other. Formerly the JaLSiS (established in 2015), our group has shift focus from organizing volunteering activities for international students at Tohoku University to supporting the education and daily lives of foreign residents and promoting participation in local communities. |
| PR | To co-learn is to coexist. By promoting co-thinking between Japanese and foreign residents, we aim to promote co-development of local communities. Through the combined efforts of former international students and Sendai citizens, we hope to accelerate multiculturalism and make Sendai a city where diversity is respected. |
